Wedding Photography FAQ

Here are some questions (with answers) that I am often asked. If you have any other questions about your wedding photography please feel free to get in touch. I am more than happy to help.

What is included in your wedding photography packages?

All of my packages include as standard a private online gallery where you can download images, order prints and share images with family and friends. Images are also then supplied in high res on disc in both colour and B&W.

Do you do family and group photographs on the wedding day?

Yes, it is important to get the groups but you also need to relax and enjoy yourself as well so I specify a certain amount and ask for a list in advance of the wedding.

Do you shoot both bride and groom preparations on the morning of the wedding?

Yes, if both parties are getting ready at the same location. If not then I will spend a short amount of time with the groomsmen before the ceremony. Alternatively I can arrange a 2nd photographer for an additional fee providing extra coverage.

Do you have insurance and back-up equipment?

I am fully insured to cover both my equipment and other things that are not photography related. I also carry two cameras and use the best Canon equipment that would cover me for any situation.

How many photographs do you take at a wedding?

This can vary greatly depending on the amount of coverage, the size of the wedding, the time of year and venue. It’s very rare if I do not deliver over 400+ images for all day wedding coverage. I generally work without an assistant/2nd photographer but one can be arranged for an additional fee.

Do you charge for travel?

I travel to most wedding venues in central Scotland free of charge (within 50 miles of Edinburgh). If the wedding is further afield there may be additional charges for travel/accommodation.  This is worked out on an individual basis and I try to keep this cost to an absolute minimum.

How much is the booking deposit?

The booking depsoit is £300 and it will come off the cost of the chosen package. I cannot hold a wedding date until a deposit is received.

What happens after the wedding?

I aim to have your wedding photos edited within 4 weeks of your wedding. Your photos will then be available online in a private gallery to share with friends and family. At the same time you will receive a disc of all your photos as high res files in both colour and B&W.

Do you sell wedding albums?

Yes, wedding photography albums start at £300. My wedding photography packages which include an album represent a significant saving on purchasing an album separately. Albums can be very individual items and I am happy to discuss all of the options available with you.
