Scottish elopement photography is not something I do a lot of. For starters, far fewer people decide to elope in Scotland than hold a traditional wedding. However, I really love being asked to photograph a newly married couple who decide to elope. What better way to celebrate than to have some nice images to look back on after the wedding. I like to treat the photograph session more like a pre-wedding or engagement shoot as it involves virtually none of the formalities you’d expect to photograph at a typical wedding. In fact, when Xin and Zhang had arranged the shoot with me they had already married at the local registrars that day! You can read more about the shoot below or scroll down to see the pictures for yourself.
Given that time was on our side we spent a few hours touring St Andrews. Time is rarely on my side when it comes to wedding day schedules so this was quite beneficial. We visited the pier, the West Sands and even fired off a few frames at the Cathedral before being asked to leave. This is also the day I learned that a permit is now required to take wedding photos in the ground of St Andrews Cathedral! Lesson learned there. However, We persevered and caught the sunset over at the cliff faces by West Sands. A great way to spend an afternoon with this couple who came all the way from China to elope.
If you’re looking for Scottish elopement photography or a wedding photographer in general then get in touch. However big or small your wedding I would love to be there.
